The Vadnais Household Prepares For Winter!

September 28, 2009

Furnace and Fireplace Maintenance

Today at the Vadnais household in White Bear Lake we decided to set some time aside for some preventative maintenance on the heart of our home, the mechanical room.  Since every furnace or fire place should have a tune up every 1-2 years in order to efficiently heat a structure, we did a thorough cleaning of both.  We tested the furnace and fireplace for gas pressure and any type of leaks and we also tested the electrical.  The next step was to open the dampers for the flue gas and get the humidifier running.  A humidifier is a key component in keeping the heat  and air quality in your home at comfortable level.  Since White Bear Lake is a cold area in during the winter, keeping your house’s humidifier in service can be crutial.  Having the correct humidity in a house allows you to keep the temperature much lower during the cold months.  The final step before start up was to make sure our air quality was maximized.  This meant we needed to get our HRV in service.  An HRV, or Heat Recovery Ventalator, takes fresh air from the outside and mixes it with the air from inside the structure in order to keep quality air circulating through your household or business.

We’re happy to say that the tune up went well and we are ready to battle another White Bear Lake winter.  We look forward to hearing from you and to assist with your needs.  Whether it’s preventative maintenance and furnace tune ups, or other Heating and Air Conditioning issues, we at Roger Vadnais Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning will there for you.  Contact us at (651) 429-3303
